4 thrifted things
Here are a few cute and “worth it” items I’ve found while thrifting recently.
Whoever says you can’t look expensive on a budget, doesn’t know where to shop.
1. Free People Tunic
I rarely wear tunics and don’t have many hanging in my closet. Maybe one or two others I bought when working at Urban Outfitters, but this was in such great condition and had no signs of wear or pilling despite being a few years old. It used to retail for $100 and change but I thankfully found this comfy top for so much less. So far I’ve loved wearing this around the house with my go to LNA ribbed knit pants when WFH. Something like this will definitely work as a good beach coverup this Summer too.
2. Stella McCartney Silk Rugby
Possibly the best find as of late! My boyfriend has a few rugbys from Rowing Blazers which look so cool on him but are too boxy for me to borrow. When I found this top, I was so surprised at an athletic style top done in silk. Then I realized it was the stunning work of Stella McCartney. So brilliant! Another reason I love Stella McCartney is because her brand prides itself on being sustainable and reimagining what you can design using innovative textiles and techniques. Happily saving this from ending up in a landfill, I took this beauty home. This lightweight rugby pairs so well with bike shorts when running errands plus it’s 100% more stylish than going out in sweats.
3. LNA Bike Shorts
I’ve been thinking about getting these for a minute and have seen soooo many influencers wearing them but didn’t feel super down to spend too much on bike shorts. I searched high and low online and found these only worn once pair on Poshmark for just $20. I’ve stopped fighting the feeling to wear sweats or athleisure when working from home and finally invested in a cute set of bike shorts that I’ll be wearing with so many things.
4. Ray Ban 70’s Style Square Frames
Proud to say these are my first Ray Bans. I’ve always been a fan of trendy and classic styles from Ray Ban but never felt that paying $200+ for sunglasses was worth it when I was in high school, college or post grad. I’ve always managed to find cute sunnies in thrift stores or have been given higher end pairs from the people I’ve worked for. Finding these on The Real Real for an unbelievable fraction of what they retail for was worth it to me, plus their return policy is great and you can always send back what doesn’t meet your standards. These arrived in perfect condition and the pale lilac color was such an interesting pick for sunglasses. The seventies were such a stylish period so I try and incorporate 70’s style items into my wardrobe and weekly wear.
