Since 1977, Manic Panic NYC has been spreading the message of radically glamourous hair color all over the world. The ultra iconic, sister owned, and independently operated hair dye brand, was in need of a total social media refresh. As they stood, this legacy brand’s socials required a uniquely tailored social strategy and refreshed content in order keep up with those who try to imitate but could never duplicate. Which is exactly where we came in.

INSTAGRAM had content and a social strategy that weren’t as fully baked as they should’ve been. However once we took over, reels became better, content looked cleaner and copy sounded stronger. Engagement also saw significant increases especially when our social strategy and campaigns were aligned across all social channels. In addition to creating both static and video content for the brand, we’ve helped hand pick higher quality content from our Dye Hard community to repost across IG, Pinterest and TikTok.

PINTEREST was left on the back burner but in just a matter of months we took monthly impressions from 2.9M to 4.5M. Our strategy included adjusting paid media strategies, updating boards, cross posting high engaging static content, and adding in more video pins.

TIK TOK was once just an after thought is now a fun, engaging, and well tended to garden of video content. Reposting UGC without a plan or posting content majorly lacking in SEO, keywords and hooks is a thing of the past. Now, when you scroll through Manic Panic’s Tik Tok feed, you’ll find correctly categorized content thats not only on brand but a great showcase of Manic Panic products in action!

Reels Before:

There was no clear strategy for Reels pre Sept ‘23. However the content posted included a mix of random UGC that was paired alongside extremely professional yet empty feeling product showcases.

Reels After:

We gave Manic Panic’s Reels a full overhaul and well deserved upgrade! Meaning better quality content, better covers, better copy, better SEO, consistent engagement and overall increased views!

Over the last few years, TikTok has proven to be the place for unhinged, fun, creative, and educational content. Instead of posting random UGC to this platform, we’ve used it to take requests and educate those who have a growing interest in standing out and experimenting with their personal style. Through posting everyday, strategically sprinkling in key words, and producing content our community actually wants to see, has proven to help people feel confident in using the product enough to purchase it.

Before:

Professional yet empty feeling content was not serving Manic Panic’s current audience, nor was it being classified by the platforms algorithm, causing it to be pushed out less.

After:

Using keywords and SEO built into each video, we’ve now gotten TikTok’s algorithm to correctly classify the content being shared to our almost 90k followers and beyond.
